About
Two Friends, One Mission
Two Friends Improv Theater’s mission is to support the New Orleans community through performance and education.
Casey martin
Casey Martin is an improviser, performer, and teacher from Minnesota.
She has been performing in the Twin Cities since 2010. Casey was a main stage performer at ComedySportz Twin Cities, and HUGE Theater. During her time performing Casey realized how important and beneficial improv can be on and off the stage. She started teaching improv in 2014, and has had the privilege of teaching people all over the Twin Cities the power of "yes, and". The most important lessons Casey thinks you can learn from Improv are: being present, being open to what is given to you, and being aware of what we are saying (verbally and non verbally).
Casey is thrilled to be providing a safe, and inclusive place to learn and perform improv here in this wonderful city.
Jon Butts
Born in New Orleans and raised in the surrounding area, Jon Butts has been performing and coaching improv for over ten years. After graduating from LSU in 2006, he moved to Chicago to pursue a place in their expansive theater scene. He quickly fell out of love with the general machinations of traditional theater and began to hunt for an art form that allowed him faster access to creative silliness, joy and the sweet, sweet applause of an audience. He studied longform improv at the world famous IO theater, performing on numerous house teams, one-offs and side crews over the next 8 years, including Harold teams ButchMAX and the still running group Smokin' Hot Dad. When most people hear that he does improv, they usually say, "...makes sense."
Jon lives in St. Roch with his partner Lori and their two rescue pit bulls, Claudette and Frankie.
